Data Applications Corporation Helps Sponsor Miracle League of Frisco

League to Allow Children with Special Needs to Enjoy National Pastime
 

ADDISON, TX (February 15, 2006)…. Data Applications Corporation (DAC) will help the Miracle League of Frisco become a reality. In addition to providing financial sponsorship, Rich Kaeufer, president of DAC, has taken on the role of assistant league director of the league.

The purpose of the Miracle League of Frisco is to allow children with physical and/or mental challenges an opportunity to play baseball. The game that so many love and enjoy is typically not available for children with special needs. The City of Frisco illustrated its support by donating a parcel of land as well as the fencing and lighting for the field.

“There is something magical about the game of baseball. For children facing physical and mental challenges, so many of them miss out on such a wonderful game,” Rich said. “We have a nice foundation with sponsorships, but we need support from other civic-minded individuals and organizations. While financial donations will help us build the park and administer the league, volunteers are also needed.”

Rich will work with others on the league’s board to raise $350,000 needed to complete the field and administer the league properly. The field will have a custom designed, synthetic turf playing surface in the City of Frisco. After the field is completed, DAC, the City of Frisco and other sponsors will provide and recruit volunteers.

“For the last eight years, we have felt that the DAC’s community involvement should focus on our youth,” Rich added. “We have worked with the City of Frisco for several years now and when we learned of this project, we felt the Miracle League was a natural fit for our company in terms of corporate citizenship.”
